The Montana Tech Orediggers faced off against the University of Montana Grizzlies in a tough match this past Sunday at the Butte Community Ice Center. Despite a valiant effort, the Orediggers fell to the Grizzlies with a final score of 13-4.
The Grizzlies came out strong, dominating the game with an impressive 66 shots on goal compared to the Orediggers’ 31 shots. Their powerplay was also on point, converting 1 out of 5 opportunities. Grizzlies’ goalie Will Hays put up a solid performance, facing 31 shots and making 27 saves.
On the Orediggers’ side, Edward Kazmierczak stood tall in the net, facing 33 shots and making 23 saves. Despite the challenging matchup, Rye Vincent managed to score a goal for the Orediggers, showing determination and skill on the ice.
However, it was the Grizzlies’ Max Toijala who stole the show with an impressive four goals, leading his team to a decisive victory.
